Issues in Education: Research Tips

Research Tips

  • Don't wait until the last minute! Spend some time each week researching, organizing or writing your paper. If you do a little bit each week it won't be so overwhelming. Check out the example timeline.
  • Stay organized! Are your a paper person or a digital person? If you like paper, print off your articles and keep them all together in a folder. If you like everything digital, make a folder in Google Drive for your project and download articles to the folder.
  • Cite your sources. Whether you are summarizing or quoting a source, it needs to be cited. A great way to keep track of notes and your sources is to use the notecards feature in Noodletools.
  • Download the Chrome extension for MyBib. This is a great resource to create citations for websites. When you are on the website that you would like to cite, click on the extension in your browser, choose the citation style you are using (for example MLA8) then click the arrow in the top left corner. The extension will create the citation for you which you can copy and paste it into your NoodleTools project.
